According to The Mirror, Liverpool will allow striker Danny Ings to leave the club on loan in January, if he hasn’t forced his way into Jurgen Klopp’s immediate plans.

Ings, 25, emerged as one of the brightest young strikers in England with Burnley, hitting 37 goals in his final two seasons at Turf Moor before allow his contract to run out in 2015.

However, Ings has suffered an injury hell at Anfield. In October 2015, Ings suffered anterior cruciate knee ligament injury, before suffering a similar injury in his right knee just over a year later.

Now working his way back to full fitness again, Ings’ record for Liverpool stands at just three goals in 12 games for the Reds, and he has played just 17 minutes of first-team action this season.

Even with Ings returning, he is still behind the likes of Roberto Fimino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke in the Liverpool pecking order, meaning a loan move could be on the cards.

The Mirror report that manager Jurgen Klopp may allow Ings to leave on loan when the transfer window re-opens in January, if the former Bournemouth attacker hasn’t got any closer to breaking into the Liverpool side.

The report notes that Newcastle have held a long-term interest in Ings, but the likes of Crystal Palace, Southampton and Watford would also be interested in taking him on loan until the end of the season.

ESPN recently suggested that Leeds United are interested in Ings, but the latest report claims that he doesn’t want to drop into the Championship, meaning the Whites could be out of the race before it’s even really started.
