Leeds United are reportedly chasing Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah.

According to Leeds Live, Leeds United are targeting Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah as they consider attackers to replace Anderlecht-bound Kemar Roofe.

The Whites are set to sell star forward Roofe to Anderlecht in a shock move, and having impressed so much under Marcelo Bielsa last season, Leeds need a replacement.

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent is the top target, but Leeds are now eyeing up Arsenal starlet Nketiah too, just as a contingency plan if they can’t land Kent.

Nketiah, 20, looks set to go out on loan before Thursday’s transfer deadline, and Leeds have suddenly entered the race for his signature.

The teenager can add pace to the Leeds attack, and with 21 goals in 25 caps for England across various youth levels, he’s shown his goalscoring ability.

Nketiah would be an exciting addition to replace Roofe, even if only on loan, but it looks like Leeds may miss out on him – especially if he’s behind Kent in their priority list anyway.

The Bristol Post report that Bristol City are leading the race to take Nketiah on loan, with Lee Johnson desperate to add another striker to help Famara Diedhiou.

Leeds must now hope to get a deal for Kent tied up soon, with their backup target potentially heading to Ashton Gate, and Bielsa can’t afford to be left without another attacker in place of Roofe.
