Leeds United have reportedly offered a new deal to Pablo Hernandez.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United have offered a two-year contract to playmaker Pablo Hernandez in a bid to secure his future.
The Whites have season their season peter out after a strong start, and new manager Paul Heckingbottom will be keen to make changes to his squad this summer ahead of next season.
Whilst new signings will be a priority, keeping hold of existing talents at Elland Road will also be key, and the future of Pablo Hernandez is cause for concern.
The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, and the Yorkshire Evening Post claim that he has now been offered a new two-year contract by Leeds.
Hernandez may choose to extend his stay, two years since signing for the club, but there appears to be rival interest from another Championship club this summer.
Birmingham City – managed by Garry Monk, the manager who brought Hernandez to Leeds having previously worked together at Swansea City – is keen according to a recent report from the Sunday People (18 March, page 65).
Hernandez has been one of Leeds’ standout performers this season with nine goals and eight assists in all competitions, and whilst fans are keen to see him pen a new deal, Monk appears to be lurking.
