According to RMC Sport, Leeds United have started talks to sign Toulouse talent Manu Kone before the October transfer deadline.

It’s claimed Toulouse want around €15million (£13.75million) for Kone, which would be the biggest transfer in Ligue 2 history.

That’s a huge fee for a 19-year-old with 14 appearances to his name last season, and that may not be the only stumbling block.

AC Milan are keen too, as are a number of English clubs, meaning Leeds face a battle to bring Kone to Elland Road.

The Daily Mail back up these reports, suggesting that Leeds want Kone having missed out on new West Bromwich Albion signing Conor Gallagher.

The teenager scored once for Toulouse last season, and is seen as a technically-gifted box-to-box midfield player.

Kone looks to be a real talent for the future, and would fit in with Leeds’ recruitment drive for talented prospects.

Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood are just some of the youngsters to join Leeds this summer, and Kone could be the next – but for a much larger fee.
