Bristol City winger Callum O’Dowda may become a contract rebel at Ashton Gate.

According to the Bristol Post, Bristol City winger Callum O’Dowda is stalling on a new contract – and that could play into Leeds United’s hands.
O’Dowda, 23, joined the Robins from Oxford United back in 2016, and has been starring down the left flank for Lee Johnson this season.
With four goals and four assists this term, the Irish international is a key man at Ashton Gate, and his exploits have unsurprisingly attracted interest.
The Bristol Post noted in January that Leeds were interested in O’Dowda, though Bristol City were looking for something in the region of £10million for him.
Now though, the Bristol Post claim that O’Dowda is unlikely to sign a new deal with the Robins before the summer, seemingly waiting to see whether Bristol City go up or not.
Leeds may now be watching with intent, especially given that their top January target – Swansea City’s Daniel James – has now told Wales Online that he wants to sign a new deal at the Liberty Stadium.

That may put the quick and tricky O’Dowda back on the Leeds radar, potentially becoming a prime target if they can’t land James.
If Leeds win promotion, a move to Elland Road would no doubt be tempting for O’Dowda, whose current Bristol City contract ends in 2020.
