Tottenham Hotspur could be involved in a carousel of centre back transfers this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur look set to back Mauricio Pochettino with new signings this summer, and he could be forced to bring in a new central defender if Toby Alderweireld leaves the club.
BBC Sport report that Alderweireld is a top target for Manchester United ahead of the World Cup this summer, and that would leave Tottenham with a major gap to fill in defence.
Alderweireld’s potential exit will be in Pochettino’s mind this summer, and Spurs may subsequently find themselves in a transfer triangle alongside Ajax and Boca Juniors, if reports are to be believed.

Firstly, The Mirror report that, with Pochettino signing a new contract with Spurs on Thursday, he has top targets in mind – and Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt is one of them.
The 18-year-old centre back is one of the top talents in world football right now, and Tottenham would be pulling off a massive coup if they manage to tie up a deal for the Dutch wonderkid.
As a result of the rumours surrounding De Ligt, Infobae in Argentina report that Ajax are lining up a deal for Boca Juniors centre back Lisandro Magallan, with many believing he could end up replacing De Ligt.

Infobae’s report then states that Boca would consider Tottenham’s Juan Foyth as a replacement for Magallan, with the Argentinian youngster potentially available if Spurs can land De Ligt this summer.
One move could spark two more in this situation, and Spurs will be hoping that everything falls into place and helps them land a top teenager – even if it means parting with Foyth, who Pochettino appears to rate highly.
