Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech looks set to leave the club this summer.
According to Dutch newspaper Voetbal International, Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech has an agreement to leave the club this summer amid links to Everton and Liverpool.
Ziyech, 25, has been a star in Dutch football with Heerenveen and Twente before heading to Ajax in 2016, where he has become arguably the finest player in the Eredivisie.
The Moroccan playmaker – set to star at this summer’s World Cup in Russia – hit nine goals and 15 assists this season, exactly the same record as last season.
The problem for Ajax is that Ziyech has become so much of a star that he looks destined to earn a bigger move elsewhere – and the Amsterdam club look poised to facilitate that.
Dutch newspaper Voetbal International report that Ziyech has an agreement with Ajax that he can leave the club this summer, with a transfer now inevitable.
Recent reports from Calciomercato claimed that Everton and Liverpool are both in the mix for Ziyech’s signature, with the Merseyside rivals set for a battle this summer.
Liverpool may well want another playmaker having allowed Philippe Coutinho to leave for Barcelona in January, whilst Everton’s new director of football Marcel Brands has a great knowledge of Dutch football having arrived from PSV Eindhoven, and he may well want to left-footed midfielder to head to Goodison Park this summer.
