Chivas Guadalajara midfielder Carlos Pena is also set for a move to Ibrox, and manager Pedro Caixinha is taking steps to bring in another midfielder to play alongside Jack and Pena.
The Scottish Sun claim that a move to sign Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans is moving closer, with the Scot ‘sold’ on a move to Ibrox having grown up supporting Rangers – but the Daily Mail suggest that the Gers must still increase their bid.
Norwich’s Graham Dorrans in action
Rangers’ offer is believed to be somewhere in the region of £1million, and Norwich are standing firm on their £1.5million valuation, meaning the Gers still have some work to do.
Dorrans, 30, hit six goals in 23 games for Norwich this past season, but having played just half of the Canaries’ Championship games, the former West Brom ace is believed to be keen on a move back to Scotland.
Norwich City’s Graham Dorrans
A 12-cap Scotland international, Dorrans would provide real quality in the Rangers midfield, and would be the type of signing that the Gers need in order to try and chase down Celtic.
With another £500,000 needed to seal the deal, and then Dorrans’ wages on top of that, chairman Dave King will have to dig deep to land the midfielder.
