Everton are reportedly set for a meeting with Napoli over the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly.
Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton and Napoli are arranging a meeting over a deal for defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Toffees have new-found cash thanks to the investment of Farhad Moshiri, but new manager Ronald Koeman has made just one signing so far, with goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg reuniting with his former Ajax and Southampton boss at Goodison Park.

Now, with the Premier League season just about a month away from starting, Koeman will be working hard to bring in new faces – and the heart of his defence is one area that could need some attention.
Question marks still hang over the future of John Stones, whilst veteran Phil Jagielka had injury problems last season, meaning a new, dependable centre back should be targeted.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Everton are now set to arrange a meeting with Napoli for this week, with a deal for Kalidou Koulibaly being discussed.
Koulibaly, 25, has emerged as one of the top defenders in Serie A since joining Napoli from Gent back in the summer of 2014, impressing with his superb strength, pace, ability on the ball and aerial prowess.

Napoli won’t want to lose Koulibaly, but Sport Mediaset report that Everton are willing to spend €45m (£38m) on Koulibaly, which could be hard for Napoli to turn down.
A meeting will allegedly take place in midweek, with Napoli at least open to hearing what Everton are proposing – and right now, the Toffees appear to be leading the race for Koulibaly’s signature ahead of a host of Premier League rivals.
