West Ham United have told Manchester City-owned goalkeeper Joe Hart that he cannot leave in the January transfer window, according to The Times.

Hart joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal from Premier League rivals City in the summer of 2017.

The England international started the 2017-18 campaign as the Hammers’ first-choice goalkeeper, but a string of poor performances has seen the 30-year-old lose his place to Adrian.

According to The Times, Hart has been told to remain at West Ham until the rest of the season despite his concerns about losing his place in the England squad for the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia in the summer of 2018.

According to The Daily Mail, West Ham manager David Moyes has told the 30-year-old former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper that he will get his chance if Adrian slips up.

It makes sense for the Hammers to retain the services of Hart, as they need two good and competent goalkeepers for the second half of the season.
