Chelsea are reportedly keen on Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have joined the race to land Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez amid links to Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Gomez, 22, has been a sensation for the Galician outfit since his 2017 move from Defensor Sporting, hitting 17 goals last season.
The Uruguayan has continued to impress this term despite Celta’s struggles, notching nine goals and five assists in 23 La Liga games.
Gomez is now attracting interest, and The Sun claim that Chelsea and Liverpool have both joined the race to secure a big-money deal for the striker this summer.
Celta surely won’t be able to keep hold of Gomez, and Chelsea – who only have Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus – would be interested if they manage to overturn the transfer ban imposed on them by FIFA.
If not, Gomez could still be heading to the Premier League. It’s just last week that The Sunday Mirror (24/2; page 61) reported that Tottenham are looking to sign the striker this summer to offer more competition for Harry Kane.

Additionally, the London Evening Standard reported that West Ham shelved a move for Gomez until the summer, feeling that they weren’t in a position to pay a huge £43.5million for him.
If Chelsea don’t get their ban overturned, the chances are that they will end up facing him next season, with interesting mounting in the burly target man’s signature.
