According to Sky Sports, Celtic’s talks over a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Shane Duffy progressed well on Monday.
It’s claimed that Celtic will pay close to £2million to take Duffy on loan, and Brighton want the Bhoys to pay a large chunk of his £45,000-a-week wages.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail state that Duffy may actually undergo his Celtic medical at the Irish FA training camp due to a tight schedule.
Ireland will travel to Sofia to take on Bulgaria later this week, meaning there may not be time for Duffy to head to Scotland, complete his medical and then travel to Sofia via Ireland.
Duffy, 28, had interest from West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion, but wanted to sign for boyhood club Celtic instead.

The centre back will bolster Celtic’s options at the back having been dumped out of the Champions League by Ferencvaros last week.
These new reports suggest that a deal is very close to being done, marking something of a coup for the Bhoys given that two Premier League teams have been pipped.
