Celtic are confident of signing Legia Warsaw defender Josip Juranovic, but have failed with their first bid of around £2million.
That’s according to multiple reports emerging overnight, with the Croatian defender now seemingly Celtic’s top right back target.
Sky Sports report that Celtic are confident of agreeing a deal to sign Juranovic, who has a £2.5million asking price on his head.
Celtic seemingly feel this deal is now more likely than a loan move for Yan Couto, despite making the Brazilian their VIP against Jablonec last week.
The Glasgow Times add that Celtic have made an opening bid of around £2million, but Legia have rejected the offer as things stand.
Celtic need to come back with an improved offer if they’re going to get a deal done, but there is still confidence that an agreement will be reached.

Juranovic, 26, starred with Hajduk Split before heading to Legia last summer, and he also has 10 caps for Croatia at international level.
With 10 assists in 40 games for Legia, Juranovic has shown his attacking ability, playing mostly as a wing back in Poland.
With just £500,000 between valuations, Celtic are in a great position to sign Juranovic and finally add a new face at right back.
