West Ham United target Maxi Gomez is now wanted by Barcelona.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Celta Vigo ace Maxi Gomez has become Barcelona’s top striker target for the summer transfer window.
With Luis Suarez badly out of form and a lack of other pure centre forward options at the Camp Nou, Barca are now looking to sign another striker this summer.
Luka Jovic and Andre Silva are also understood to be on the radar, but Mundo Deportivo claim there is significant interest in Gomez.
The 22-year-old starred last season with 17 goals in 36 La Liga games, whilst he has found the net nine times in 21 league outings this term, as well as adding five assists.
A burly, physical target man, Gomez doesn’t fit the usual mould of a Barcelona signing, but he is close to Uruguayan international teammate Suarez, and may offer something different to the Barca attack.
The news will come as a crushing blow to West Ham United, who wanted to sign Gomez in the January transfer window, but backed away over his £80,000-a-week wage demands according to Bleacher Report.

The London Evening Standard noted that West Ham still wanted Gomez, but were delaying a £43.5million swoop until the summer, when they would have more money to complete a move.
Now though, that delay means their deal could collapse, with Barca now ready to swoop in and ruin their plans and target a big summer deal for Gomez.
