Swansea City have reportedly joined the race for Viktor Claesson.

According to the Daily Mail, Swansea City are lining up a move to sign Krasnodar midfielder Viktor Claesson having impressed in Russia.
Claesson, 26, joined Krasnodar from Elfsborg in his native Sweden back in 2017, and he has been a star this season with nine goals and six assists in just 26 appearances.
The midfielder is now set to feature for Sweden at the World Cup this summer, and he could also have a new club before this summer’s tournament in Russia.
It’s claimed that Swansea have been impressed with Claesson, and could mount a move to sign the playmaker for around £8million this summer once their Premier League safety is confirmed.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen are also thought to be keen on Claesson, whilst the Swede has also been strongly linked with Newcastle United in recent times.
The Chronicle reported in September that Newcastle snubbed the chance to sign Claesson last summer, having monitored the midfielder’s progress in Russia.
With such an impressive record this season, and Newcastle’s need for an attacking midfielder, Claesson should still be on the Magpies’ radar – and Benitez should possibly re-think his stance on him ahead of the summer transfer window, as he could end up with Premier League rivals Swansea.
