Charles Watts has suggested on his own Youtube channel that Arsenal will be waiting until the summer to get a deal done for Mat Ryan.
Football Insider suggested this week that Arsenal were in ‘advanced talks’ with Ryan.
But Watts has suggested that isn’t the case, and he believes that any decision over recruiting a new goalkeeper will be held back for a few months yet.
“Arsenal will be waiting until the summer, as far as I’m aware, to get that done, if that is the way they are going to go,” he said.
“I’m still not absolutely convinced it is. I know there has been stories that they are in advanced talks or very close with Ryan, but I think they will wait until the summer.
“I expect them to bring in a goalkeeper, but whether it’s Ryan or someone who is bigger who will really put pressure on Bernd Leno for the number one spot, I’m not sure.”
Ryan has featured irregularly for Arsenal this term, since being brought in early on in the season.

The Australian has played in a handful of games, including against Aston Villa in the Premier League, but he has rarely put pressure on Bernd Leno’s place.
Ryan has been more reliable back-up than Alex Runarsson, but whether Arsenal have been convinced enough to sign him on a long-term basis remains to be seen.
The news that Arsenal are set to sign another goalkeeper could be tough for Runarsson, as that means his game time will surely be limited again next term.
