Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is on his way to Liverpool after ‘transport disruption’ stopped him from travelling last night.

Liverpool are closing in on a deal for Ryan Gravenberch with the midfielder finally making his journey to Merseyside.

That is according to TalkSPORT reporter Sam Matterface, who claims that Gravenberch was on a flight to Liverpool this morning.

The expectation was that Gravenberch would be flying into Liverpool on Thursday night, but the journey has been delayed.

Matterface claims ‘transport disruption’ forced the delay but the expectation is that Liverpool will face no more delays and a medical will take place soon.

Fabrizio Romano added earlier this morning that Gravenberch would be landing in Liverpool in mere minutes.

Liverpool were planning to get Gravenberch through a medical test upon arrival on Merseyside.

The deadline is fast approaching now but Liverpool are seemingly expecting this deal to go through with no hitches after a slight concern of Gravenberch’s travel last night.

How much are Liverpool paying for Ryan Gravenberch?

Gravenberch only left Ajax last summer, completing a move to Bayern Munich, worth up to £21million.

The Dutchman barely featured for Bayern last season, starting just three Bundesliga games for the German champions.

There have been very differing reports on the fee needed for Gravenberch.

90min reported that Bayern wanted just £20million in order to let Gravenberch go.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg suggested that Bayern actually wanted around €30million (£26million) in order to sell the 21-year-old.

In the end, the deal has ended up costing much more.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Liverpool are paying €40million (£34.2million) plus €5million (£4.3million) in add-ons potentially taking the deal to around £38.5million.

That’s a hefty rise on the rumoured fees this week but Liverpool will be delighted to have finally landed their man and added another option to Jurgen Klopp’s engine room.
