West Ham United are prepared to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre – and are more open to a January 2024 move than Liverpool have been.
West Ham United are prepared to match Liverpool’s offer for Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade ahead of the transfer deadline.
That is according to Brazilian reporter Lucas Pedrosa, who claims that West Ham have made contact with Fluminense over a move for Andre.
It’s stated that West Ham have proposed an offer which matches what Liverpool had been willing to pay for the Brazilian.
The value of Liverpool’s offer is unclear but they seemed to back away because Fluminense won’t sell Andre right now.
Fluminense want to keep Andre until the end of their Copa Libertadores campaign, which could be November if they make it to the final.
Liverpool don’t want to wait that long and have moved on to the likes of Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.
West Ham aren’t as bothered about that and have accepted that Andre would only arrive in January if Fluminense accept a bid.
The Hammers could either push for a deal today and loan Andre back to Fluminense, or simply tee up a deal to bring him in during the January window if he’s interested.

West Ham United placing keen focus on Brazilian market amid Andre interest
Pedrosa notes that West Ham have had representation – believed to be technical director Tim Steidten – over in Brazil.
The goal was actually to try and sign Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto to bolster David Moyes’ attacking options.
That deal won’t be happening now but West Ham are still shopping in Brazil.

It’s not just Andre either, who could be a great addition as a holding midfield player having dazzled for Fluminense.
The Mirror (31/08, p52) report that West Ham are hoping to snap up Flamengo striker Pedro, turning to him after missing out on Yuri Alberto.
Signing players from Brazil on deadline day will always be tricky and Pedro may be the priority given that Andre wouldn’t be arriving for months.
This is a fascinating approach for West Ham though and we would see Steidten shop in Brazil regularly if this summer is anything to go by.
