Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is allegedly close to signing for Galatasaray with ‘just final details’ remaining.

Davinson Sanchez could leave Tottenham Hotspur even after the English transfer deadline with Galatasaray pushing.

That is according to reporter Rudy Galetti, who claims that Sanchez to Galatasaray is now ‘almost a done deal’.

Galetti claims that there are ‘just last details’ needed to sort out with some negotiations over the transfer fee to come.

Galetti adds that the full agreement is expected soon enough with Sanchez likely to move to Turkey.

The English transfer deadline arrived at 11pm on Friday night but business can still be done in terms of outgoings.

The Turkish window doesn’t close until September 15th and that means Galatasaray can still move in with a deal for Sanchez.

Tottenham may be tempted to cash in on Sanchez, who cost a huge £42million back in 2017, but his exit would still feel like something of a shock right now.

Davinson Sanchez exit now something of a surprise

Tottenham seemed open to selling Sanchez over the summer but a deaparture just never materialised.

There was talk of Sanchez being used as part of a Brennan Johnson deal but that never happened, whilst a deal with Spartak Moscow fell through.

The idea was that Spurs would offload Sanchez and bring in a new centre back, preferably a homegrown player like Tosin Adarabioyo or Lloyd Kelly.

Those deals weren’t possible and that meant the transfer deadline passed without Sanchez landing a move elsewhere.

Spurs now wouldn’t be able to replace Sanchez if they do sell him, unless there is a free agent they unexpectedly fancy signing.

Eric Dier is completely out of favour under Ange Postecoglou and Sanchez may actually be needed now as third-choice centre back behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Selling Sanchez now just wouldn’t make sense, even with his contract heading towards its end, with Tottenham hardly blessed with defensive options.
