Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has claimed that Tottenham are now “getting frustrated” with Ajax as talks with Everton continue.
What’s the story?
Well, Bridge believes Bergwijn was “set to go” to Ajax, although the Dutch giants are refusing to meet Tottenham’s asking price.
He told Sky Sports: “They’re getting frustrated, Tottenham, with Ajax. They’re not offering enough.”
As a result, Spurs are “getting frustrated” with the Eredivisie champions, but their inability to pay up means Everton are now more likely to sign the Netherlands international.
According to the Telegraph, Bergwijn has been offered to Frank Lampard along with £20m as Antonio Conte pursues a move for Richarlison, although the Toffees have rejected the offer.
However, there is no mention of Everton not being fans of the 24-year-old, so if the north Londoners offer a bit more cash along with the player, we believe a deal could materialise.

That would see Everton gain a decent replacement for Richarlison, as well as a significant amount of money, and all because Ajax are refusing to meet Tottenham’s valuation.
One thing is for certain – Ajax must ensure their next bid satisfies Tottenham, or we have a feeling Spurs will simply walk away from negotiations and focus their attention on shipping Bergwijn to Goodison Park.
Tottenham must be careful with Everton
Ironically, Tottenham could end up frustrating Everton in this transfer saga.
The Telegraph state that Everton firmly rejected the offer of £20m plus Bergwijn, which suggests they didn’t give it any serious consideration whatsoever.

Therefore, if Spurs fail to make a more respectable offer next time, then it could be Everton who end up getting frustrated and walking away from the negotiating table.
That would also surely leave Richarlison annoyed, as the Brazilian is already said to have agreed a five-year contract with the north Londoners.
Whatever happens, keep a close eye on Tottenham and Everton this summer, as the Telegraph add that Anthony Gordon is also in Conte’s sights.
