Leeds United defender Robin Koch is heading to Germany to finalise a move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Robin Koch will not be joining a Premier League club this summer as Eintracht Frankfurt close in on a deal.
That is according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Koch is on his way to Germany today.
Koch will undergo his medical today and a one-year loan deal is now on the verge of completion.
Staying at Leeds was always going to be unlikely for Koch after their relegation to the Championship.
Koch has dreams of playing for Germany at Euro 2024 and dropping into the second tier wouldn’t help those aspirations.
The former Freiburg star is now returning to Germany and should play a starring role for Frankfurt this coming season.
This loan move also keeps the door open for Koch to come back to Leeds next summer and potentially resume a Premier League career if the Whites go up.
Robin Koch won’t be joining a Premier League club
There had been strong rumours that Koch would make an instant return to the Premier League.
The aforementioned Plettenberg stunned many by reporting in June that Manchester United had held ‘loose talks’ to sign koch.
90Min added that Tottenham Hotspur had joined United in speaking to Koch’s representatives ahead of a possible move.

Spurs are looking at centre back signings this summer and Koch was seemingly a target for Ange Postecoglou and co.
The move to North London won’t be happening now though and 90Min’s report added that Brentford, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest also held talks.
All of those clubs will now miss out on Koch though as he prepares to make a return to the Bundesliga in the hope of playing for Germany next summer.
