Jurgen Klopp wants to bring Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia to Liverpool but there has been no agreement on personal terms.
Liverpool continue to chase Romeo Lavia but a deal for the Southampton midfielder doesn’t appear to be imminent.
That is according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Jurgen Klopp wants Lavia at Anfield.
Southampton are seeking around £50million for Lavia and Liverpool are yet to indicate that they would meet such an asking price.
Liverpool haven’t agreed personal terms with Lavia either, meaning the Reds still have plenty of work to do yet.
Klopp has added two new midfielders to his ranks this summer with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai arriving at Anfield.
There is still a desire to get one more in though and Lavia could be Liverpool’s next target.

Romeo Lavia could be Fabinho’s heir at Liverpool
Mac Allister can play something of a roaming role in the Liverpool midfield with Szoboszlai impacting the game in the final third.
Liverpool may then fancy adding a holding midfielder given that Fabinho struggled to find his top form last season.
Adding a player who can immediately compete in the Premier League and then take over from Fabinho down the line could be ideal.
Lavia would fit that particular bill perfectly having featured in a holding role for Southampton last season.
The 19-year-old has been hailed as ‘incredible’ by his former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and showed enormous potential despite Southampton’s relegation.
£50million isn’t cheap but Liverpool may well feel that Lavia can anchor their midfield for years to come.

Southampton set to sign potential Lavia replacement
Southampton may well be expecting Lavia to go this summer, especially having lined up a replacement.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Southampton had lined up Shea Charles to take Lavia’s spot in midfield.
Charles – just as Lavia did – will be leaving City for first-team action at Southampton.
Fabrizio Romano claimed on Thursday night that the Northern Ireland international would be undergoing a Saints medical ahead of securing a £9million move to the South Coast.
The deal hasn’t been confirmed yet but Charles will seemingly join Southampton and potentially pave the way for Lavia to move on – possibly to Liverpool.
