West Ham United should consider a move for the Crystal Palace hitman.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has already been extremely busy at the London Stadium this summer, but one area where he is still yet to strengthen is his centre-forward department.
The Chilean will undoubtedly have to bolster his forward ranks, if he is to guide the Hammers back into contention for the European places this summer, but quite who he is targeting remains a mystery.
With this in mind, West Ham should consider making a move for Crystal Palace hitman Christian Benteke, with the Eagles willing to listen to offers in the region of £27 million for the striker, according to the London Evening Standard.
The 27-year-old joined Palace from Liverpool in the summer of 2016, and he has since gone on to score 20 goals for the south London club.
West Ham were interested in signing the Belgian two years ago, according to the Mirror, before he eventually completed his switch to Selhurst Park, and despite his recent struggles, he might just be exactly what Pellegrini needs to make his squad complete this season.
Benteke is powerful, and strong in the air, and he could act as a fantastic focal point for the Hammers to build their attacks through.
The Belgian ace would surely thrive off of the service that the likes of Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko will undoubtedly provide, and a move to the London Stadium could very well help breath fire back into his stuttering career.
Whether Palace will be willing to sell the striker to a direct Premier League rival is doubtful, but West Ham should test their resolve with an enquiry for Benteke nevertheless.
