Nottingham Forest reportedly want West Ham United’s Sam Byram on loan in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United are sending Sam Byram to Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2017-18 campaign, according to The Sun, and that is indeed a very smart decision from manager Manuel Pellegrini.
The 24-year-old right-back joined West Ham from Leeds United in January 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Independent to be worth £3.7 million.

Much was expected of the youngster when he arrived at the Hammers, but the Englishman – who earns £30,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has failed to make a massive impact.

According to The Sun, Byram, who can also operate as a right-winger, has been able to make only 27 Premier League appearances for West Ham.
With the former Leeds star clearly not managing to adapt to the Premier League – he has had injuries as well – it makes perfect sense for new manager Pellegrini to send him to Forest in the Championship.

Forest are a massive club and will be aiming to win promotion to the Premier League, and Byram’s vast experience in the division will come in handy.
The 24-year-old will also need regular playing time that is important in his development, and working under Karanka is also going to improve.
Byram to Forest on loan from West Ham is beneficial for all three parties.
