Rafa Benitez will be desperate to add more quality to his forward options at Newcastle this summer, in an effort to guide his side to an improvement upon their 10th placed finish in the Premier League table last season.

With this in mind, the Magpies should consider a swoop for Valencia attacker Santi Mina, who could be available for around €18 million (£15.8 million) this summer, according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato.

The 22-year-old joined Valencia from Celta Vigo in the summer of 2015, and he has since gone on to really impress at the Mestalla, chalking up 29 goals and 13 assists in 105 outings for Los Che.

Mina is a pacey front-man who can play anywhere along the front-line, and his impeccable technical ability would provide Benitez with something entirely different in the final third.

The young Spaniard’s class when in possession and immaculate first touch enables him to drop deep into the false nine position, from where he can link up the play between the midfield and attack.

He really came into his own last season, racking up 15 goals for Valencia, and showcasing his cool and composed nature when presented with a goalscoring opportunity.

Mina would be a superb signing for Newcastle, should Benitez manage to bring him to St James’ Park, and for just £15.8 million, they can’t afford to miss out on the Spaniard.
