Reported Wolverhampton Wanderers target Wu Lei scored on his return to action as Espanyol picked up a valuable three points against Alaves.
The China international has been linked with a move away from Espanyol.
According to Marca, Wolves are in talks to sign him and links to the club’s Chinese owners, Fosun international, make a potential deal more likely.

But Wu Lei has seemingly put speculation over his future to one side for now.
The Chinese winger, likened to Argentina great Maradona, marked his return from the Covid-19 suspension with a valuable goal in Espanyol’s fight for survival.
The Catalunya-based club are surprisingly bottom of La Liga.
But their chances of survival were boosted with a 2-0 win over Alaves. Wu Lei scored his side’s second goal, racing through one-on-one and slotting past former West Ham United goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez.
It was the 28-year-old’s fourth goal of the season on his 15th La Liga start.
Wu Lei is capable of playing anywhere in the final third. His versatility may be a factor in Wolves’ interest as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side plan ahead for next season.
The Midlands club are going strong in the Premier League and another campaign in the Europa League next season is a real possibility.
Marca claim Wu Lei’s contract at Espanyol expires in December. The La Liga club hold a one-year extension option, but they may prefer to cash in this summer.
