Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign Leicester City loanee Youri Tielemans, who has justified his £40m price tag with three Premier League assists.

Youri Tielemans has indicated that he wants to stay at Leicester City this summer despite claims that Tottenham Hotspur want to take him to North London in the summer, speaking to Sky Sports.

Tielemans joined The Foxes on loan in January after struggling to live up to expectations in France with Monaco but he has quickly rediscovered the golden touch that made him one of Europe’s most coveted young midfielders at Anderlecht.

The Belgian international produced his third assist in seven Premier League games in the 2-0 win against Bournemouth last time out, setting up Jamie Vardy with a pinpoint cross.

And Het Laaste Nieuws reports that Leicester are planning to break their transfer record to sign Tielemans permanently for £40 million but they will face competition from Spurs, who have been tracking the 21-year-old for many a year.

Speaking to Sky, however, Tielemans has hinted that he sees his future at the King Power Stadium.

“I do not know what is going to happen this summer,” he said. “I feel really good here, but I have to see the other options too.

“At Leicester, I can be part of something great. They will have a new training ground, the stadium will be much better than it is now with more fans coming over.

“So it can be something great for the future.”

Tielemans is clearly enticed by the prospect of continuing his fine start at Leicester into next season with the feeling of optimism around the club growing since Brendan Rodgers was appointed to replace the much-maligned Claude Puel.
