Spurs reportedly want to offer Max Kruse his first chance in the Premier League after a sublime season with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen talisman Max Kruse has admitted that he could be tempted by a move away from the Bundesliga high-flyers with Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs linked in recent times, in quotes reported by Bild.

A former Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach striker, Kruse has finally fulfilled his undoubted potential with a stellar spell at Bremen. At the age of 31, the 14-cap German international is in the form of his life right now with six goals in his last four league games.

As a result, Sky Sports Germany claimed last week that Tottenham were interested in signing Kruse, most likely as a back-up for Harry Kane, when his contract expires in the summer.

And Kruse’s latest comments should give Mauricio Pochettino hope that a deal can be done.

“I would like to play European football. It would be nice if that worked out with Werder. I feel very comfortable here,” said Kruse, who joined for £9 million in 2015.

“(But) of course there are offers that I would listen to. You have to say that honestly.”

As it stands, Bremen are sixth in the Bundesliga and well placed to qualify for the Europa League.

But the prospect of joining one of Europe’s most impressive sides, and a current Champions League quarter finalist, should appeal to a player who is entering the final years of his career at the top level.
