However, the Getafe centre-back did have an impressive season last term, even if it went under the radar.
Dakonam silenced arguably the best player in the world when Getafe met Barcelona, which shows his quality.
The Tottenham target helped Getafe pick up a 0-0 draw against Barca at the Nou Camp in February.
And if Dakonam can keep Messi quiet, that should offer some encouragement about his potential, if he did sign for Spurs this summer.
