A number of Premier League sides have been linked with PSV Eindhoven’s Eredivisie champion Bergwijn, including Spurs and West Ham United.
Steven Bergwijn is keen to fly the nest and leave PSV Eindhoven at the end of the season, according to Voetbal Primeur.
The 21-year-old is one of the most talented young attackers in European football and has taken his performances to a whole new level this season, scoring 10 goals and grabbing 11 assists for the Eredivisie leaders.
As a result, Bergwijn has attracted interest from clubs all over the continent with a number of Premier League teams watching his progress closely. The Sun claimed in January that Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are interested, as well as Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.
And they could be in luck.
The report claims that Bergwijn refused to leave PSV in January because he wanted to continue his development under the former Dutch captain Mark van Bommel. But he has apparently decided that he needs to make the step up at the end of the season with a move to England potentially on the cards.
The Sun added that Bergwijn is valued at around £25 million, which could make him a real bargain signing for the likes of Spurs or West Ham.
The exciting forward has gone from strength to strength in the last few months and his speed and improving end product would make him an immediate fans favourite in North London or in claret and blue.
