The Palermo attacker has been linked with a Premier League move.

Tottenham Hotspur have recently been linked with the signature of Palermo forward Franco Vazquez.
It was reported by the Express last week that Spurs were in the lead for the player, who is seemingly valued at around £22.9 million by the Italian club.
They are however not alone. Jose Mourinho has been linked with having a strong interest in the player for some time now. In January it was reported by Corriere dello Sport the former Chelsea boss wanted Vazquez in at Manchester United should he get the Old Trafford manager role.

Now Mourinho is the United boss so it would be interesting to see if such a deal is on the radar.
The player himself has spoken to the press in Argentina recently. Vazquez confirmed that the interest from Mourinho was flattering, telling DXT Carlos Paz:
“For now there is nothing, I just want to enjoy the holiday because it was a stressful year. Later in June I’ll get to thinking where I will go.
“When you’re linked to clubs or important managers it is a pleasure and gives you a satisfaction that you’re doing things right. But I take it as a rumor, I do not get ahead, I’m sure where I go to its because God wanted it that way and will be the best for me.”

However, he also made it clear that he might like to remain in Italy:
“I do not have a preference; all leagues have their charm.
“It is clear that Italy is a league that I know quite well and that adaptation will not be as difficult as it may be the other. I am open to listen to all proposals that I have and will choose which creates better.”
Spurs need to bring in some attacking reinforcements after finding themselves light in this area last season.

Mourinho will be wanting to put his own stamp on the Manchester United team after agreeing to replace Louis van Gaal as boss recently.
But both Spurs and United will have a task on their hands convincing Vazquez to leave Italian football behind.
