The Crystal Palace winger has been linked with moves to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his match-winning display against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, and responded to reporters asking him whether his future lies away from south London, amidst rumours linking him with moves to Everton and Tottenham, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Everton and Tottenham were interested in signing the £70 million-rated winger during the summer, but he eventually remained at Selhurst Park.
The 25-year-old is a key player for Crystal Palace, and losing him doesn’t seem to be like an option for Roy Hodgson, if the 71-year-old truly wants to take his side to the next level.
Zaha spoke to reporters over the weekend, and insisted that he is only focused on producing his best form for the Eagles, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“It makes no difference to me, because I had my head down anyway. All that stuff was not going to affect me or how the team were playing. Whatever happens, happens. “But I’m all Palace, and you can see on the pitch that all I think about is the team doing well.We are still speaking about [a potential new contract], still negotiating, whatever. Just going to see if we can come to an agreement. The main thing for me is scoring goals. Everyone talks about ‘no end product, no end product’. Well, tell me now.”
Zaha certainly seems to be committed to playing for Palace for the foreseeable future, but if he continues to produce the goods on a regular basis, it will surely be incredibly hard for the Eagles to keep hold of their prized asset.
