West Ham United and Newcastle United are currently preparing for the new Premier League season, with the latter yet to show any plan for what is going to happen.

West Ham United and Newcastle are keen on the services of MLS-based and Real Salt Lake winger Jefferson Savarino, according to Sky Sports.

Both West Ham and Newcastle need added freshness to their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign and if Savarino has a choice then he should pick the London club over the North East outfit.

The Magpies have already dipped their toes into the MLS market in January when they secured the signature of playmaker Miguel Almiron, who will be looking to make a name for himself next season.

Truthfully, both teams could do with more attacking injection into their squad, but at this moment in time, the Hammers are on a more ambitious path than their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley still hasn’t been able to resolve a deal for Rafa Benitez to stay at the club beyond his contract expiring at the end of this month – with no manager seemingly at the helm, it decreases the chances of a player wanting to make the bold step and move to the club, especially when more than one are interested.

On the other side of the coin, West Ham ended the previous campaign in the top ten and they will be aiming for a European spot next season – whether they get there or not, unlike Ashley at Newcastle, the London club are at least trying.

That in itself could prove to be persuasive for a player like Savarino, who likes to get on the ball and run at opposition defences, with his technique being one of his standout qualities.

West Ham play the most attacking football from the two, and given they are a better counter-attacking outfit, Savarino’s strengths will once again come into play and better fruition at the London Stadium.

The versatile attacker is making a name for himself outside of Europe and if his performances in America continue then more teams will surely come knocking for his services.
