Riyad Mahrez’s Leicester future remains in doubt as the January window comes into view, but Jack Harrison could develop into a like-for-like replacement.

Jack Harrison is a target for Everton, Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion, according to the Daily Mail.
And Claude Puel’s Leicester should be looking to edge their Premier League rivals to the young winger, with the reported £6million fee a drop in the water in the current transfer market.
Harrison is a talented left-footed dribbler who plays from the right in a similar fashion to current Foxes star Riyad Mahrez – a key figure in the early weeks of Puel’s reign at the King Power Stadium.

While the New York City FC man has plenty of potential, he cannot yet compare to 2015-16 PFA Player of the Year Mahrez.
But there could soon be an opening at Leicester after the Algerian handed in a transfer request in the summer – per the Telegraph.
If Mahrez were to push for a move again in 2018, Puel would require a man of considerable talent to step into the void – and Harrison could certainly become that.
At a bargain price, Leicester would be foolish not to make a move for the England Under-21 star who has established himself as one of the most exciting young players in MLS since signing for NYCFC in 2016.

Harrison’s recent international recognition is just reward for his form in the United States, having registered 14 goals and 13 assists across two seasons, and he has the quality to further his development at a club like Leicester.
Even if Mahrez were to remain at the King Power Stadium beyond January, Harrison could benefit from serving as an understudy to one of the Premier League’s standout players.
Now may well be the time for the 20-year-old to return to England in the top flight – and the Foxes’ thrilling counter-attacking style would be a good fit.
