Sunderland reportedly want Celtic’s Lewis Morgan in the summer transfer window.
Celtic winger Lewis Morgan has revealed to Herald Scotland his chat with manager Brendan Rodgers, and that just about makes it clear that the former St Mirren youngster will not move to Sunderland in the summer transfer window.
According to The Scottish Sun, Sunderland are interested in signing Morgan on a season-long loan deal from Celtic in the summer transfer window.
New Sunderland manager Jack Ross worked with the 21-year-old winger at St. Mirren.

The Scotland international winger was signed by Celtic from St. Mirren in the January transfer window for a fee reported by Herald Scotland to be worth £300,000, but the youngster was immediately loaned back to the Buddies for the rest of the 2017-18 season.
Morgan told Herald Scotland: “I had a wee chat with him [Rodgers] and he welcomed me and was saying what he expected of me. He wants me to really kick on in pre-season and try and get into his thoughts.
“I’ve always had that belief within myself anyway. I know it’s a tough task, the squad here is full of quality, and it’s going to be tough to break into it, but I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t think I could add something to the team.”
No Sunderland move?
Morgan’s aforementioned comments do suggest that the winger is determined to break into the Celtic first team next season.
While it is going to be hard for the 21-year-old to play week in and week out for the Glasgow giants, it would not make much sense for him to play for Sunderland on loan next season if his long-term future is going to be at Celtic.
