Sheffield United will have to double their bid for Bournemouth’s Aaron Ramsdale with the Cherries demanding £25 million for the highly-rated goalkeeper, according to the Mail.

The new Premier League season is just weeks away but we are still none the wiser about where Dean Henderson will be plying his trade in six weeks.

With David de Gea making a mockery of that once deserved ‘best goalkeeper in the world’ tag, there is a very real chance that Henderson will return to Manchester United to finally challenge for the coveted number one spot ahead of 2020/21.

As a result, Sheffield United are doing the sensible thing and preparing for life without a goalkeeper who has spent the last two seasons pulling off gravity-defying saves at Bramall Lane.

Chris Wilder’s side appear to have chosen a replacement too; a man who is rivalling Henderson for the position of England’s next number one.

Ramsdale might have conceded 62 goals in 37 games as Bournemouth were relegated from the Premier League last season but, if it wasn’t for their 22-year-old shot-stopper, The Cherries’ fate would have been sealed a lot sooner than the final day.

Inspired by Sunderland’s refusal to sell Jordan Pickford for a penny less than £30 million, Bournemouth have rejected a £12 million bid for Sheffield United.
