Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers are dreaming of re-signing Ryan Kent from Premier League runners-up Liverpool, Steven Gerrard has admitted.

Rangers target Ryan Kent was conspicuous by his absence yet again as Liverpool’s U23s beat Southampton 4-2 in Premier League 2 action.
On paper, Kent should be the undoubted talisman of Neil Critchley’s young Reds. But it’s telling that he was once again nowhere to be seen as Liverpool travelled to the South Coast with Rangers still hoping that a return to Ibrox is on the cards.
Kent was a revelation during a loan spell in Scotland last season, winning the SPFA Young Player of the Year award and making a huge impression on Steven Gerrard.
According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers are hoping to secure another temporary agreement for a 22-year-old who is valued by the European Champions at £7 million. Gerrard himself admitted that he hasn’t given up hope that Kent would return, describing the speedy winger as a ‘top player’.

With Kent out of favour for Liverpool’s U23s and nowhere near Jurgen Klopp’s first team plans, a return to Glasgow appears to suit everyone down to the ground.
Well, on paper at least.
Klopp told the BBC in July that Kent would not be allowed to leave on loan again after previous spell at Barnsley, Bristol City and Freiburg. It was time, he said, to stay and fight for his place or leave for good.
So Rangers might have to find a way to stump up £7 million before the transfer deadline passes.
