Rangers target Louis Moult hasn’t got off to the best start with Preston.

After starring with Motherwell, many expected Louis Moult to be a roaring success upon his return to England with Preston North End.
Moult, 25, failed to really impress in English football before a strong spell with Wrexham, where his 23 goals in 51 games handed him a 2015 move to Motherwell.
50 goals in 98 games for Motherwell made Moult a star in Scottish football, and Preston swooped to land Moult in January, with Motherwell almost forced to sell given that he was in the final six months of his contract.
Moult was seen as a major signing for Preston in January, and even more so when the Lilywhites sold striker Jordan Hugill to West Ham United on deadline day – but his start to life at Deepdale hasn’t been ideal.

The striker has started just four games for Preston and scored just the once, which came as a substitute against Sheffield Wednesday over Easter, and his early struggles for the Lilywhites continued on Saturday.
Moult was handed a start in the 1-0 defeat at Reading, but he was substituted at half time by manager Alex Neil, with Moult missing a couple of chances and also hitting the woodwork from a free kick.
There is certainly time for Moult to turn his Preston career around, and a full pre-season may help him adapt to life back in England, but the Daily Mail recently claimed that Rangers are keen to offer him a return to Scotland.
After his first half display on Saturday, some Preston fans noted that the club should be looking to offer Moult to Rangers as it’s ‘like playing with 10 men’ when the striker is on the pitch – although it’s still early days for the former Stoke youngster.
