Huddersfield Town are planning to sell Rangers target Juninho Bacuna for £5 million during the summer transfer window, as reported by the Sun (21 February, page 63).
Steven Gerrard was never likely to rest on his laurels and, even though the Scottish Premiership title is now within their grasp, the Gers boss is already planning to build on a stunning 2020/21 season.
Jack Simpson and Scott Wright arrived at Ibrox during the final few days of the January transfer window, while Nnamdi Ofoborh has agreed to join from Bournemouth when his contract expires this summer.
If Rangers are planning to add even more quality to an already impressive array of midfield options, they could be in luck.
The Glasgow giants are big fans of Huddersfield dynamo Bacuna.
And, after trying and failing to land the Curacao international in October, the Sun reports that Bacuna will be available to buy for £5 million.
Huddersfield will trigger a clause in the midfielder’s contract, allowing them to extend his current deal by 12 months, before cashing in on a player who swapped Groningen for Yorkshire in 2018.

Clubs in France and Belgium are also showing an interest, although it remains to be seen whether Rangers are willing to pay £5 million for a man who, despite his technical ability and devilish dead-balls, would hardly be guaranteed a place in Gerrard’s first XI.
A substantial transfer fee would make Bacuna the ninth most expensive signing in Rangers’ history.
