West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing the Chelsea-owned ace.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini will surely be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium in January, in an effort to give his side a better chance of earning a Europa League berth this season.
Javier Hernandez is currently out injured, whilst Andy Carroll is far from reliable from a fitness perspective, so the addition of a proven marksmen will be a necessity next month.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, one particular player who the Hammers are interested in is Chelsea ace Michy Batshuayi, and should Pellegrini bring him to east London, it could turn out to be an exceptional piece of business for the club.
The 25-year-old left the Blues for Valencia on loan in the summer, and although he has been far from prolific in La Liga, he still possesses all of the attributes that West Ham currently lack.
Batshuayi is incredibly quick, and always tries to run in behind the opposition defence. His ability to stretch the pitch would help provide more space for the Hammers’ midfielders to operate in, and with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgrass in the side, that could be invaluable.
The 23-capped Belgian international would be a fantastic partner for Marko Arnautovic, and he would provide Pellegrini with an entirely different option through the middle.
The Chelsea-owned hitman would have a lot to prove, and a stint at West Ham might be just what he needs in order to reinvigorate his flagging career.
