Reported Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday transfer window target Jacob Murphy says he has a fresh chance to realise his dream at boyhood club Newcastle United, Chronicle report.
Murphy joined Newcastle from Norwich City for £12 million.
The winger initially earned a first-team place under former boss Rafa Benitez but following the Spaniard’s exit he gradually fell out of favour at the club.

Murphy spent last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and reports over the summer suggested he was heading for another exit.
TEAMtalk claimed the Owls wanted to re-sign him. Rangers, meanwhile, were also keen with the Daily Record reporting in August how Steven Gerrard wanted him at Ibrox.
But a move to the Gers or a return to the Owls never materialised. Now, Murphy is excited to get another chance at Newcastle and wants to grasp it with both hands.
“I was thinking: ‘Is it ever going to happen for me? But the Sheffield Wednesday loan was so vital for my development. It gave me the confidence and I realised I could do this. I wasn’t going to give up on this dream. This is my boyhood club that I have always wanted to play for. I have got this opportunity, go and take it. Pure hard work, pure hunger and desire will see me achieve the goals I want to achieve,” Murphy explained.
Murphy made his first Newcastle start of the season in the 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, scoring a wonderful free-kick to equalise in the final minute.
The 25-year-old has lots of ability. His speed and directness can cause problems for defences.
Murphy’s contract at Newcastle expires next summer. The likes of Wednesday and Rangers may have identified him as a potential future bargain.

The Magpies, however, will surely now look to protect their investment and renew his contract. At 25, he still has so much he can offer the Tyneside club.
Next up for Newcastle is a home clash against surprise Premier League leaders Everton before they take on Southampton away in the longest trip of their campaign.
