Reported Newcastle United target Edinson Cavani has allegedly been made an offer by Inter Milan.

French publication L’Equipe has claimed that Italian giants Inter have made a three-year offer to Cavani, who is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Italian sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport has also reported that the Nerazzurri have made a three-year offer to the former Napoli striker.

The report has added that Inter’s offer is worth €7.5 million (£6.72m) net per season plus adds-on, quite a drop from the €12 million (£10.76m) net per year he has been getting at PSG.

Foot Mercato recently claimed of interest in the Uruguay international striker from Newcastle, and both La Gazzetta dello Sport and L’Equipe have mentioned the Premier League club as an interested party in their respective reports.

Will Newcastle United make an offer?

With Inter reportedly making an offer, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle make one of their own to the 33-year-old.

Of course, the Magpies’ reported interest in Cavani is driven by the proposed takeover (The Sun) of the club by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and it remains to be seen how serious they are about signing one of the best strikers of his generation.
