Reported Newcastle United and Leicester City target Tete scored a second-half double to fire Shakhtar Donetsk to the Ukrainian league title this weekend.

Some of the finest Brazilian footballers of a generation have honed their Jogo bonito ways in the iconic orange and black of Shakhtar.

And, with more performances like this, it will be only a matter of time before Tete is following in the footsteps of Willian, Fernandinho and Douglas Costa by making his way to a major European league.

The jet-heeled Brazilian has also been linked with Newcastle and Leicester, via Globo Esporte in May, though a staggering £60 million price-tag threatens to scupper any hopes he might have of an imminent move to the Premier League.

And the 20-year-old has surely added another couple of pounds onto his asking price with a devastating second-half display which secured a 13th league crown for Shakhtar.

With Shakhtar 2-1 down and crying out for a hero, Tete answered their call and dug The Miners out of a hole.

He fired home a brilliant volleyed equaliser before, with just ten minutes remaining, headed in from close range to fire his side to glory.

With all due respect to the Foxes and the Magpies, however, Tete appears to have his sights set a little higher.

Speaking to Estadio Interativo recently, a man nicknamed ‘the Hurricane’ due to his whirlwind pace admitted that Liverpool was his dream destination.

“A Gigantic club with fantastic managers and an incredible number of trophies,” Tete beamed.

“The Premier League is an extraordinary competition, the game is played at a great pace, there are lots of great managers and great clubs.”

With more displays like that one Saturday, don’t be surprised if Liverpool make Tete’s dreams come true.
