Newcastle United, Leicester City and Crystal Palace have all been handed a transfer boost with Nice confirming on their official website that in-demand midfielder Arnaud Lusamba is now available for free.
With funds tight all over the European game, unattached players like Lusamba will not be short of offers over the next few weeks.
The 23-year-old Frenchman had enjoyed an impressive campaign before the Ligue 1 season was brought to a premature conclusion.
And with his contract due to expire on July 1, it has now been confirmed that Lusamba has played his final game in Nice colours.
“At the end of his contract, Arnaud Lusamba will go in a new direction. OGC Nice thanks him and wishes him good luck for the rest of his journey,” read a statement on Sunday night.
It looks for all the world that Lusamba will soon be packing up his belongings and making his way across the Channel.
The Chronicle reported in May that Newcastle had expressed an interest. Head of recruitment Steve Nickson has made contact with Lusamba’s agents regarding a potential summer switch to St James’ Park.

Given that the former France youth star is now a free agent, expect the Magpies to battle for his signature regardless of whether that Saudi Arabian takeover goes through.
Even Mike Ashley can afford this talented midfield prospect.
Brighton, Crystal Palace and Leicester are also keen, according to The Mail, with the report adding that Lusamba’s friendship with Youri Tielemens could push him towards the King Power.
A move to Leicester would also see Lusamba play Champions League football for the first time.
