Klopp’s current deal at in charge of the Reds expires in the summer of 2022, but the Guardian claims that the Liverpool owners are keen to extend his contract.
And tying the 51-year-old down to a new long-term contract really could be the best business that Liverpool can do.
Klopp currently earns £7 million (£134,000 per week) per year, according to the Daily Mail, and the improved contract is thought to be worth £10 million (£192,000 per week) per year.
And the former Borussia Dortmund boss is worth every single penny to Liverpool.
The Merseyside outfit are now widely considered to be one of the best footballing sides in Europe, and they will be many peoples’ favourites to win more major trophies next season, both domestically and on the continent.
Liverpool will certainly be looking to strengthen once again during the summer, but tying Klopp down to a new deal might just be so much more important than bolstering their player ranks.
