Liverpool are plotting another raid on Flamengo with the exciting Reinier Jesus a target for the Premier League club.

Lucas Paqueta appears to be Brazil’s next superstar.

A dazzling 21-year-old midfielder who left Flamengo for AC Milan for £30 million in January (Sun), the Samba starlet is a player with supreme skill and has already had an incredible impact on a Rossoneri side well placed to end their Champions League exile.

In truth, Paqeuta is already looking like one that got away for Liverpool. Tuttomercatoweb reported last summer that the Reds had identified him as an alternative to Nabil Fekir, only to end up disappointed when he moved to Milan instead.

But could Liverpool now end up signing a player who has already been labelled Paqeuta’s successor in his homeland?

Le10 Sport claims that The Reds have renewed their interest in another Flamengo starlet, Reinier Jesus, 11 months after the club’s former president Kepler Leite stated that they had held talks with the teenager’s family.

A thrilling attacking midfielder with bags of skill and an eye for goal, it seems that Reinier has his heart set on following Paqueta into the big time.

“I often look at his attitude on the pitch, as he looks for the ball and attacks space,” Reinier told Il Bianco Nero, with Milan’s ‘new Kaka’ described as the youngster’s idol.

Reinier may be younger and far less proven than Paqueta but he could be a lot more expensive too. Il Bianco Nero reports that he has a £63 million release clause in his contract.
