Reported Liverpool target Malcom shows he’s Brazil’s latest superstar with Bordeaux displays

Malcom has set Ligue 1 alight for Bordeax – no wonder Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked.

Bordeaux pulled off a couple of impressive coups in the transfer window this summer, reinforcing a frail attack with the astute signings of Nicolas de Preville from Lille and Jonathan Cafu from Bulgaria’s Ludogorets Razgrad.

However, holding onto Brazilian winger Malcom was by far their best piece of summer business, the 20-year-old superstar-in-waiting insisting that he was more than happy to remain in Ligue 1 despite links with some of Europe’s biggest and most glamorous clubs, per the Ligue 1 official website.

The Sun reported in February that both Liverpool and Manchester United have been tracking the progress of this most exciting of wingers – and his form in the early stages of this season has proved beyond doubt that Malcom is one of the most exciting prospects in the world game.

The Brazil Under-23 international arrived at Bordeaux from Corinthians in January 2016 and netted an impressive nine goals last season. However, Malcom has taken his game to a new level in 2017/18 and could be considered Ligue 1’s most exciting player if it wasn’t for a certain compatriot earning rave reviews in the French capital.

In five games, Malcom has scored two goals, produced three assists and earned a further three Man of the Match awards. It’s not just the bare statistics, however, but the nature of his game-changing moments of genius that has tongues wagging.

Lightning with the ball at his feet and blessed with an end product that is improving all the time, Malcom’s last-minute 30-yard blockbuster in the 3-3 draw with Lyon last month showed what he’s all about – unpredictability, astounding skill and a Brazilian flair worthy of a player who honed his trade in Sao Paolo.

In fact, if Lyon’s Nabil Fekir hadn’t slammed one in from inside his own half in that very same game, Malcom’s stunner would be a genuine goal of the season contender.

Just imagine, then, how thrilling Malcom would be in a Liverpool front three coached by Jurgen Klopp. The Reds will have to pay a pretty penny if they want to add further jogo bonito to a Samba-studded frontline but Malcom really is something very special indeed.
