Liverpool reportedly want to bring Adrien Rabiot to the Premier League when his contract at Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain expires.

Adrien Rabiot is hardly the most popular man in Paris today.

In the aftermath of PSG’s dramatic 3-1 defeat against Manchester United on Wednesday, a result that saw them dumped out of the Champions League in remarkable fashion once again, Rabiot was spotted living it up in a local nightclub seemingly without a care in the world.

Rabiot really should have been playing against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. But he has refused to sign a new deal at PSG with his current contract expiring next summer, a decision that has led coach Thomas Tuchel to omit him from the squad since December.

The Express claims that Liverpool are keen to bring Rabiot to the Premier League on a free transfer at the end of the season. But they would be signing a player whose professionalism has been called into question – and not for the first time.

“I find his attitude and lack of professionalism towards the club, his teammates and supporters unacceptable,” PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique told RMC.

“I would like to point out that until June 30, he remains a member of our squad.”

Rabiot is a wonderfully gifted footballer, one of the most promising midfielders in European football. But he would arrive at Anfield with plenty of baggage.

He remains absent from the France international squad after refusing to be included on their stand-by list ahead of the Russian World Cup – a decision that left manager Didier Deschamps understandably irate.
