With the English top flight on ice since mid-March due to the coronavirus, it had been reported that as many as nine clubs were keen to complete the campaign by the end of June. But it is understood that the 20 clubs did not discuss wrapping up the remaining 92 Premier League fixtures by then when they met on a conference call with league chiefs. Highly-rated youngster Isak Hansen-Aaroen is set to make a switch to Old Trafford after being on trial at Liverpool and Everton, according to a report.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the striker, who turns 16 this weekend, had trials with both Liverpool and Everton before agreeing terms with Manchester United.

It isn’t a surprise that the big prospect, dubbed the next ‘Erling Haaland’ [TalkSport], has decided to move to Manchester United because his fellow countryman, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is in charge.

It’s not yet known what both Merseyside clubs thought of Hansen-Aaroen after his trial and whether they ever decided to try and sign him up.

Either way, it will be interesting to see during these coming years how the young forward progresses because he clearly has a bright future ahead of him.

He only has to look towards Germany, and another one of his fellow countryman in Haaland, and how he has taken to life at Dortmund.

It proves it can be done, as those at Anfield and Goodison, will be hoping they haven’t missed out on a potential gem.

As the report suggests, it seems the teenager will link up with United’s under-18’s and then it’s up to him how far and quickly he progresses from there.

In the meantime, Hansen-Aaroen is a name to remember!
