Premier League duo Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers were reportedly interested in signing Trabzonspor’s Super Lig goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir.

Trabzsponspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir has signed a new long-term contract until 2025 shortly after being linked with a move to the Premier League amid interest from Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Ajansspor, Wolves have shown an interest in a Turkish international goalkeeper who burst onto the scene a year ago and continues to go from strength to strength.
Liverpool, meanwhile, watched Cakir produce a staggering Man of the Match display in a 1-1 Super Lig draw with Fenerbahce earlier this month. The highly-rated shot-stopper made eight saves to deny to Istanbul giants with The Star claiming that his price-tag soared to around £14 million.
Cakir will cost even more than that now.
Because, according to Gunes, Trabzonspor have pulled off a major coup by tying down their 23-year-old prized asset for another six years. Cakir will reportedly earn £60,000-a-week at the Medical Park Stadium.
Fortunately for Liverpool, whose interest was seemingly confirmed by Cakir’s agent earlier in the year (Haber Turk), Adrian has stepped up brilliantly since the injury-enforced absence of Alisson Becker. And in Caomhin Kelleher and Kamil Grabara, The Reds have two of the most exciting young goalkeepers on their books too.

Wolves, meanwhile, will have been thrilled to see Rui Patricio back at his best against Crystal Palace on Sunday though John Ruddy is expected to leave Molineux when his contract expires next June.
A new back-up shot-stopper is needed sooner rather than later.
